Routing Coordinator

Primary objectives of the position are to:- Promote and contribute toward the safe and compliant operation of the fleet- Work safely in all duties- Develop the most cost effective and efficient routes, while achieving service requirements- Effectively uses technology to continuously improve fleet operation and driver management- Assist with driver management duties- Supports CSC with other duties as neededESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Safety and Compliance- Routes fleet vehicles, ensuring compliance with DOT and State regulations- Handles emergency and accident situations with confidence and control, effectively executing the company policies in regards to incident drug & alcohol testing- Ensures drivers returning from routes are in compliance with all CES proceduresService- Understands warehouse charge (WC) policies and effectively approves early AM’s and other special need deliveries- Ensures routes provide drivers with necessary time to safely achieve customer expectations- Proactively communicates all service issues within CSC, Sales and up-line management- Promotes an atmosphere of internal and external service - Actively participates in the company PONC processTechnology and Cost- Is comfortable and confident using current technology (web based search engines, spreadsheet applications) to continuously improve fleet operations and driver management- Is proactive in researching advancements in routing and technology to continuously improve routing processes and fleet efficiency- Understands fleet cost drivers, making suggestions for improvement and works to reduce the cost of the delivery networkPROBLEM SOLVING – Briefly describe the nature of the decision making or problem solving which is part of this position. Include the extent to which this position is governed by established practices, rules, regulations, manuals, counsel/advice and independent thinking.- Works independently and keeps management apprised of status and potential problems- Recognizes and reacts in an appropriate manner to issues which are unsafe, inefficient or may negatively impact service – taking the initiative to resolve situations- Works within established DOT and State regulations- Has medium level latitude to add routes/drivers to execute short term (next day) deliveries
