Inside Sales Associate - Outdoor Power Equipment Company

Central Power Systems is the regional sales and distribution arm for Briggs and Stratton, the leading manufacturer of air-cooled gasoline engines and parts for outdoor power equipment. Briggs and Stratton engines are incorporated into products for both the consumer market and industrial/commercial applications. We are also responsible for the sales and marketing of Briggs and Stratton Power Products including consumer and commercial generators, consumer and commercial pressure washers and other end products.

 

Job Description

We are looking for hard working and self-motivated individuals who expect to be rewarded for performance and results. You will be responsible for sales of outdoor power equipment products and services in a defined geographic territory - already populated with a strong customer base of pre-existing accounts.

 

As part of your role, you will need to identify, contact, and develop new customers through outbound telesales. Strong understanding of telesales skills including probing, overcoming objections, negotiating, and closing techniques are highly desired. Business-to-Business cold-calling and new business development experience is highly preferable.

 

Required Skills

Develop and cultivate strong, long-term business relationships with both existing customers and prospect opportunities

Written and verbal communication skills – the ability to articulate clearly

Computer literate using Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and contact management (SalesLogix)

Good time management and organizational skills

 

Responsibilities

Making B2B outbound sales calls (75-100/day) soliciting orders and providing general customer support

Work with customer relationship management (SalesLogix) software in outbound sales campaigns

Establish contact with sales prospects

Rapidly fill and maintain a lead pipeline for the field sales force

Meet or exceed all sales objectives

Up-sell each customer based on need or special promotional products; as directed

 

Job Qualifications

3 to 5 years of relevant sales experience in a related business, ideally outdoor power equipment

Previous telephone sales experience required

Must have superior communication skills, including a convincing, pleasant phone presence

Must be bright, quick-thinking, and able to respond to prospect inquiries appropriately

Self-starter who can work independently
