Area Sales Manager

Valley Bakers Cooperative Association is a bakery and foodservice wholesale distribution company headquartered in Greenville, Wisconsin. We serve approximately 1200 locations throughout Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We serve a varied customer base of retail, wholesale and supermarket bakeries, donut shops, pizza restaurants, pizza manufacturers, candy stores and institutional food service companies.

 

Job Decription:  

Increase sales and build strong business relationships with co-op stockholders and customers by communicating with them regularly on a schedule they understand, commensurate with their potential sales volume and needs.



§  Communicate regularly with VBCA department managers.

 

§  Meet each period with Regional Sales Manager to review sales performance.

 

§  Keep an up to date prospect file.

 

§  Represent VBCA in a manner consistent with professional business practice.

 

1.    Encourage member satisfaction through good service.

2.    Use entertainment to build relationships.

3.    Call the office twice daily (morning & afternoon) for messages. Follow up on those messages within one (1) business day.

4.    Adhere to company dress code.

 

§  Negotiate volume commitment as part of VBCA’s unique selling proposal.

 

§  Submit, and have on file, a two-week itinerary at all times. Communicate any vendor ride-withs or technical service jobs with Regional Sales Manager.

 

§  Arrange call schedule to be face to face with decision maker and stockholders regularly on an agreed upon schedule.

 

§  Present campaign related products and appropriate premiums, flyers, merchandisers and other materials during sales call.

 

§  Download customer needs & prepare a unique proposal based on those needs.

 

§  Present custom proposal (books) to members/customers.

 

§  Review “book committed” customers thoroughly every six (6) months. Update with any changes or additions.

 

§  Keep up to date, accurate member records including vital statistics, special needs, call times/days, and special order history. Keep a copy of all documents and written correspondence in your files.

 

§  Keep VBCA & PW applications, catalogs, with you at all times during the business day.

 

§  Check in with Regional Sales Manager daily.

 

§  Perform all tasks required by management.





Starting Wage:  $35,000 / year plus commissions and incentives.
