Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, enters activity into subsidiary journals and posts to the general ledger; prepares tax returns, receivable and management reports; maintains an understanding of payroll, cash mobilization, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Monthly Accounting Procedures Prepare and enter standard and miscellaneous journal entries to the general ledger, maintain miscellaneous cash receipts journal, prepare trial balance, financial statements and supporting schedules, analyze G/L Trial Balance. Prepare Account Analysis Prepare and analyze account analysis and monthly work papers in accordance with the guidelines and requirements of the company's public accounting firm. Prepare and file tax returns Assist in the preparation of company's tax and financial calendar, prepare and forward tax returns to appropriate agencies and file tax returns in company's document files. Prepare Receivable Reports Maintain a record of funds loaned or deposited, prepare and maintain files of receivable reports. Record Intercompany Activity Record intercompany and intracompany activity for material and services. Prepare Bank Reconciliations Prepare bank reconciliations for all company bank accounts. Perform Internal Audits Perform internal audits upon request. Maintain an Understanding of Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Cash Mobilization. Maintain an understanding of the payroll processing cycle to process payroll in the absence of the Specialist, Payroll Accounting, maintain an understanding of the cash mobilization cycle to mobilize cash in the absence of the Specialist, Credit & Collection, and to maintain an understanding of the accounts payable and accounts receivable processing cycle.
