The goal of the purchasing operation is to: get the right goods - to the right place - at the right time. You'll be working closely with a long-tenured manager of the operation - what a great way to learn the import/export business and be mentored by someone who's very successful within the company.To be successful in this purchasing role, you'll bring a unique mix of: 1) Experience - hands-on, customer-facing activity in international operations, purchasing, inventory management, logistics, costing. 2) Perspective - learn what's important to your customer and find effective solutions; think of yourself as a 'business development' person - go beyond the minimum expectation and seek to expand the business potential with each customer; be the project manager who never loses track of any of the 'strings' of activity.
