We currently have an opening for an Assistant Utility Operator in our Bridgeport, CT facility. This is an entry-level operations position. Successful candidates should have naval experience, a maritime background, or other power plant operations experience. The desire to assume increasingly responsible positions in the future is a plus.

Summary:
- Monitors and operates plant equipment to maintain safe, efficient and continuous plant operations.
- Makes rounds to check conditions of plant equipment and records operational data on log sheets.
- Operates Ash Handling System safely and efficiently.
- Tests and treats boiler, cooling and other plant water systems.
- Shovels loose materials such as sand, gravel, metals, plastics or chemicals.
- Maintains clean and orderly work area.
- Works overtime and rotating 12 hour shifts.
- Lifts moderate to heavy material.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree preferred.
- Mechanical abilities sufficient to perform equipment maintenance and minor repairs such as the replacement of shear pins, valve repacking, strainer cleaning, and general preventative maintenance.
