Web Developer

Summary of Responsibilities:

Works closely with the web team to develop and maintain web-technology based business solutions for project owners, users, and other IT teams.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

1.  Builds new solutions with ASP.net 2.0, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and MSSQL Server 2005.

2.  Supports and maintains existing websites and web applications, troubleshooting issues as they arise and recommending improvements.

3.  Tests and documents new applications and changes, and trains new team members.

4.  Works with project owners and analysts during system design to determine needs and to plan solutions. 

5.  Communicates with project owners, Web Team, and other IT teams regarding project progress and issue resolutions.

6.  Supports the servers for all web related functions.

7.  Works with the training department to create software training curriculum end users.

8.  Contributes to the growth of the business by referring quality candidates into the hiring process.

 

Required Job Qualifications:

1.  Bachelor’s degree from a recognized 4 year university or equivalent experience.

2.  Experience designing and developing commercial websites and web applications.

3.  Strong knowledge of and experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript, VBScript, VB.net, Classic ASP, ASP.net, and T-SQL,

4.  Experience with Microsoft tools & technologies, including Visual Studio, Visual SourceSafe, IIS, MSSQL Server, and Sharepoint.

5.  Good knowledge of standards-based design, cross-browser design, usability and accessibility considerations, and web multimedia production.

6.  Completely on top of new web industry trends, technologies, and standards.  Ready and able to research, recommend, and apply new solutions as they emerge.

7.  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

8.  Can effectively handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment.

9.  Self-starter with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and superior problem-solving skills.

 

Desired Job Qualifications:

1.  Knowledge of or experience with graphic design, “Web 2.0”, AJAX, DHTML/DOM Scripting, Flash development, SQL Reporting Services, WSH, ADSI, WMI, CDO, Web Services, XML, XSLT, XPath, Visual Basic 6, VBA, Office, Outlook, Network Load Balancing, relational database design and development.

2.  MCSD or other relevant technical certifications.
