Warehouse Supervisor - Hillsboro, OR
WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR
Accountability: This position is directly accountable to the Facility Manager.
General Statement of the Job:
The Warehouse Supervisor performs activities directly and indirectly related to the completion of environmental and hazardous material warehousing; coordinates oversees all daily warehouse and delivery activity.
General Requirements of the Job:
1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
2. Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. At least some college coursework preferred.
3. Three (3) years of progressive warehouse experience required.
4. Forklift Certification required.
5. Must be able to successfully complete required training per 29 CFR 1910.120 to perform job duties.
6. Shipping & Receiving experience required.
7. Must be able to successfully pass post-offer employment physical and drug screen and maintain medical certification annually.
Essential Requirements and Specifications of the Job:
1. Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, and RCRA regulations.
2. Ability to compile and analyze data and prepare reports from the data. Requires visual acuity, reading skills, mathematical skills, and analytical skills.
3. Able to perform training needs assessments, develop lesson plans, develop training materials for students and instructors which requires ability to read, to write, and to have visual acuity.
4. Must be able to use computer and inventory systems.
Principal Duties:
1. Oversees and coordinates all warehousing and transportation functions, including but not limited to tracking and documenting equipment preventative maintenance, tracking vehicle DOT and state compliance, dispatching drivers for deliveries, etc.
2. Assists in daily operation of warehouse including but not limited to operation of forklifts, loading and unloading trucks in accordance with DOT regulations and Company’s Standards of Performance, Receiving, Shipping, etc.
3. Acts as a backup for warehouse personnel.
4. Acts as a backup for Billing.
5. Leads and/or participates in presentations in Safety Meetings.
6. Performs and/or coordinates physical counts per customer’s special requests.
7. Coordinates and purchases supplies and services in conjunction with material handling and delivery requirements. Handles all associated invoice payment.
8. Oversees progress of Showcase standards and makes assignments as appropriate.
9. Oversees, coordinates, and/or participates in training of warehouse and transportation staff. Creates and maintains materials for training purposes.
10. Responsible for overseeing and coordinating spill cleanup and other emergency situations.
11. Tracks damaged and expired product and works toward obtaining dispositions and actions on such product.
12. Initiates and/or investigates CAP’s, and carries out applicable Corrective Actions
13. Creates, evaluates, and updates Work instructions for training purposes.
14. Works in conjunction with the Office Supervisor and/or Facility Manager in handling customer service issues and all pertinent communications with customers.
15. Evaluates the facility and equipment for and participates in ongoing repair, adjustment, and improvement.
16. Maintain rigorous communication with Facility Manager on issues such as safety concerns, faulty or damaged equipment, rejected or damaged material, accidents, etc.
17. Participates with Facility Manager in performance evaluations of staff members.
18. Participates in hiring, terminations, and disciplinary actions.
19. Responsible for achieving ISO 9001 status for warehouse and transportation departments, and maintaining such status.
20. All other duties as assigned.
