Position Description:Develops and monitors capital program costs and schedules. Provides support to Project Managers and coordinates cost and scheduling activities with various groups. Other duties include supervising Program Control Staff and Consultants. Coordinates with Project Directors to develop and monitor costs and schedules for capital projects. Develops and utilizes computerized cost and scheduling systems for project monitoring and analysis. Develops and monitors detailed engineering and construction costs and schedules. Analyzes problems and their impacts to the costs and schedule. Recommends alternative solutions. Performs cost and scheduling simulation or "what if" studies to evaluate management options. Assists the Manager of Capital Project Scheduling with the preparation, maintenance, and update of METRO's Master Schedule for the Capital Budget, the Monthly/Quarterly Progress Reports and variance reports for the assigned area of responsibility. Provides cost and scheduling support to Project Management groups, maintaining consistency in cost forecast and Capital Project schedules. Completes various reports including summary reports for upper management. As needed, develops miscellaneous cost analyses and schedules at the detail, immediate and summary levels. Updates project cost forecasts based on real estate, design and construction cost estimates. Supervises staff consultants as directed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related field. Minimum of six (6) to eight (8) progressively responsible, professional experience in cost/scheduling or program and project control utilizing a computerized cost and scheduling system. Must be experienced in developing and monitoring costs and schedules for engineering and construction projects at a detailed level. Transit or large, multi project experience desired. Knowledge of Engineering & Construction project management functions. Extensive knowledge of Project Control Software (Spreadsheet, Database and Scheduling). Ability to coordinate and obtain information in a multi-departmental environment. Good verbal and written communication skills.
