GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under general guidelines, monitors and operates agency enterprise computer systems to maintain appropriate levels of service and availability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide services 24 hours, 7 days a week on a rotating basis. Monitor server and network performance including applications, databases, and console messages, and take appropriate action. Monitor the Agencys LAN and WAN performance. Operate software production and testing environments, including version/change control. Perform other duties as assigned. Basic knowledge of network procedures. Manage enterprise backup and restore procedures, including off-site media rotation. Support disaster recovery procedures. Answer data center phone calls and assist with end-user problem resolution. Set up application/user accounts. Set up and administer network printers and other output devices. Maintain application modules and update as needed.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Certified NetWare Administrator (CNA) and/or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification; MCSE, MCSD, MCPS and/or MCT. Mechanical skills; ability to be mobile, 30% of work time; lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds. Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of network hardware and software, e.g. NIC, bridges routers, Ethernet and protocols TCP/IP, IPX. Proficient using PC and software applications. Two years experience and proficiency with three of the following: NetWare, WindowsNT, OpenVMS, UNIX, GroupWise (5.x), Legato.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to Sr Mgr Enterprise IT Delivery *

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided.
