In fact, over 100 million Americans rely on us each year, whether we’re answering routine questions or helping with complex medical and travel emergencies. Today, Mondial Assistance is hiring for: International Assistance RN Job Summary:The International Assistance Nurse will be an in-house support staff for the Healthcare Assistance Department.  Currently, the Healthcare Assistance department consists of an emergency medical contact center for American travelers and expatriates who encounter a medical emergency while overseas.  Healthcare Assistance coordinates with the customer’s insurance company and/or employer to determine benefits, extend those benefits in advance to the customer, and ensure appropriate medical care (transporting the customer to a more appropriate facility where necessary).  The International Assistance Nurse will provide a myriad of medical support services to internal and external customers, and will assist with the supervision of medical case management, the development of the knowledge of the Assistance Case Managers, and the handling of medical transportation cases.   Essential Job Functions (other duties may be assigned): Field calls from subscribers who request medical advice or wish to determine the appropriate level of care for their symptoms. Perform telephonic contacts with medical personnel and facilities involved in the care of customers to gather information on patient’s medical condition. Work closely with personnel in Assistance to ensure timely and appropriate coordination of patient medical care and transportation. Prepare and conduct daily rounds with Medical Director, Canadian Nursing Team, and Transport Team. Serve as point person for transports as a link to the transport team in Canada. Conduct basic internal awareness sessions for staff on things like basic medical terminology, how to recognize a potential evacuation, medical transports, etc. Oversee the quality of medical information submitted to external clients. Demonstrate initiative in solving customer problems Maintain current product knowledge base and updated medical knowledge Process all applicable information into appropriate system Assist with medical translations and coverage decisions. Assist Sales and Marketing departments with client visits and other initiatives where necessary. Minimum Qualifications:Minimum of 3+ years of nursing practice, preferably 2+ years in critical care or ER experience required.  Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.  A college degree in Nursing is preferred.  Must possess a current Virginia Nursing License.  Mondial Assistance is looking for the best and brightest to help perpetuate our growth.
