Operations Manager

CEVA Logistics is part of a global company providing logistics services. CEVA Logistics provides Fortune 500 companies value-added supply chain services, such as network design/redesign, high-velocity cross docks, fulfillment centers, sequencing, kitting, sub-assembly, return logistics, dedicated contract transportation and e-Commerce solutions.

We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager.

Position Description:

Operations Managers provide direction to supervisors, operations and floor employees to meet customer goals and expectation, ensure productivity levels are reached in efficient and effective manner. May hold overall operational responsibility in the absence of Assistant Contract Manager or Contract Manager.

Main Duties:

Operations Managers perform the following duties:

• The Operations Manager provides managerial leadership to supervisors and employees. • Provide direction to meet customer goals and expectations, ensuring productivity levels are reached in an effective and efficient manner and maintaining quality performance objectives. • Responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the contract. • Responsible for administrative activities, development/monitoring of KPI’s and implementing continuous improvement opportunities. • Follow and enforce company policies and procedures (i.e. Human Resources, Safety, Quality and Environment). • Create and implement cost savings thru LEAN initiatives. • Responsible for operational progress and customer/employee relations. • Ensure that staffing and training requirements are maintained and disciplines administered as required. • Ensure safe and healthy workplace and address compliance issues, implement and maintain safety and compliance procedures. • Ensure daily reporting of operational/quality requirements are completed. • Perform special projects as required by the Assistant / Contract Manager.

Manage: Operations Supervisors, Operations Clerks, Drivers, Material Handlers and Pickers.

Employment Requirements

A PHARMACEUTICAL BACKGROUND IS A REQUIREMENT FOR THIS POSITION.


Education/Certification: A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, with a plus in logistics, 3PL or transportation. Experience: 4+ years management experience in a transportation/operational environment.

Skills and Abilities: Ability to provide leadership. Ability to train, motivate, coach and counsel others. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact with customers and employees. Must possess problem solving, conflict resolution, decision making and planning/organizing skills. Excellent written/oral communication and excellent listening skills. Ability to multi-task and excellent time management skills. Must be creative and possess the ability to think strategically outside the box. Must be computer literate. Working Conditions

• High volume pedestrian and machine traffic. • Varying shift schedule for this position. • Working in a very fast paced, dynamic environment. • Multiple demands (from employees, Managers and Customer). • Frequent distractions and interruptions.

Effort (Physical/Mental Demands):

• Constant walking and standing, occasional lifting, bending and sitting. • Constant dealings with employees, Managers and Customers involving time management, multi-tasking, scheduling, decision making, forecasting and problem solving. • Frequent use of phone and computer.
