Company: Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company Location: Atkins, VA 24311 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Quality Assurance/Safety Relevant Work Experience: 2+ to 5 Years Environment Health & Safety Night Supervisor This position will provide support in the areas of Environmental, Health, Safety, Training and Worker’sCompensation. Reporting to the EHS Supervisor, the EHS Night Supervisor manages the program on the night shift for issues related to occupational safety and environmental compliance. The EHS Night Supervisor is responsible for implementing and managing EHS programs to meet regulatory requirements and Utility Trailer’s EHS policies and programs. Responsibilities: · Administer and support the established EHS Programs including auditing for compliance, training, reporting and record keeping.· Oversee injury/medical management programs as needed, including workers compensation program.· Conduct thorough accident investigations through team problem solving and the implementation of prevention actions.· Provide leadership and direction to employees to improve safety performance.· Train employees to ensure implementation and adherence to EHS policies and procedures.· Analyze and report EHS metrics, such as injury trends, insurance claims, and corrective action tracking/closure.· Complete internal reporting of EHS performance.· Complete periodic facility inspections to identify safety hazards and audit compliance with current safety policies and procedures, and to ensure safe work environment, safe work practices, and compliance with environmental regulations and health & safety standards.· Lead incident investigation process and coordinate corrective action measures and closure.· Manage the company’s environmental programs, including hazardous/universal waste, storm water, and air permit compliance.· Respond to inquiries from insurance carriers, regulatory agencies, and corporate EHS.· Keep abreast of changes in EPA and OSHA regulations and keep management updated on any required changes.· Other EHS projects and tasks as determined by business needs. Knowledge/Skills and Experience Required: · Bachelor's degree in an EHS specialty is preferred, but experience may be substituted.· Minimum of 3 years experience managing occupational safety and environmental compliance.· Strong interpersonal skills and effective communicator (verbal, written and presentation).· Good communication skills to deliver EHS training programs to the workforce.· Self-starter - well organized and detail oriented.· Strong leadership and team building skills.· In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations.· Familiarity with USEPA and Virginia environmental regulations a plus.· EHS certifications and experience in a manufacturing environment are a plus.
