Job Responsibilities:
Based in Everett, WA, this individual will be responsible for developing
intranet web applications for use in Washington Market cable system.
This individual will also be responsible for supporting existing
intranet applications and performing duties of a database administrator.
Major Duties:
-Work with end users to gather and understand requirements for newintranet applications and enhancements.
-Database & Application design, coding, testing, debugging, anddocumentation.
-New code development and user interface design using ASP.NET 2.0 with VB.NET, JavaScript, HTML, XML, and other web related technologies.
-Provide ongoing support for existing ASP, VB, JavaScript, HTML and .NET applications.
-Create and maintain IIS configuration and properties.
-Implement SQL Server solutions and perform database administratorduties.
-Monitor Production SQL Server databases to ensure that they areavailable and performing efficiently to meet customer service levelexpectations.
-Engage in capacity planning and requirements gathering for projects andĀ applications that may require SQL Server data solution(s).
-Build appropriate database(s), backup and recovery, and contingencydisaster recovery solutions.
-Write database processes and operational maintenance procedures along with standards and guidelines for SQL Server.
-Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.
Required Skills:
Education:
-BS Computer Science or related field.
Experience:
-4 years application development experience in a Microsoft development environment with a minimum 1 year in Internet/Intranet web development.
-Hands on experience with new code development and interface design, using ASP, VBScript, JavaScript, HTML, XML, ASP.NET, Visual Studio 2005, Visual Source Safe 2005, SQL 2000 and other web related languages.
-Basic knowledge of Windows Server 2003, MS Access, IIS.
-Ability to hand code without WYSIWYG editors.
-Must be able to layout attractive, functional and effective website
content and work with existing templates.
-Experience with Microsoft SQL Server database administration and IIS configuration and setup.
-Ability to create databases, views, user defined functions, and stored
procedures to meet the business need and integrate into web solution.
-Portfolio and example of previous work required. -Experience converting ASP applications to .Net is a plus.
-Experience working with end users to understand new application
requirements or changes as well as trouble shooting end user problem
reports.
-Strong oral and written communication skills and strong problem solving skills.
-Ability to work well within a team environment and collaborate on
technical solutions.
Relocation is not available for this position.
