Engineer II-Sys Performance

Job Description: The system performance engineering position is responsible for optimization ofthe Motorola wireless CDMA digital network. This includes involvement in capitalprojects, such as: site integrations, carrier additions, antenna modificationsand 1X/EVDO deployments. Also resolution of routine maintenance issues thatdegrade the network, such as: identify and track interference issues,troubleshoot antenna problems, detect hardware malfunctions and make necessaryparameter adjustments. Drive testing the network, performing in-buildingsurveys, addressing customer complaints, monitoring daily performance metrics,providing input on areas needing coverage improvements are typical activities ofthis position. Position requires highly dedicated, self-motivated individualable to adapt in a fast paced environment. Frequent maintenance window work willbe required as well as travel to other market areas, within region to lendsupport. Minimum Requirements: Experience with the following wireless performance tools: CDMA Drive test equipment Post processing software Mapinfo Familiarity with Motorola performance reports (i.e. PMSUM, PMTRAF, etc) Spectrum Analyzer Antenna Sweep Gear Skills or training in the following: IS-95/2000 optimization EVDO optimization RF fundamentals T1 fundamentals Motorola BTS & CBSC architecture/hardware UNIX TCP/IP Database (i.e. Access, SQL Server) Computer programming/Web design Education and Experience: College degree and 2-4 years related experience or 6 +years equivalent related Engineering/Technical experience or a combination ofeducation and related Engineering/Technical experience required.
