Position Summary:
This position is responsible for STA Wireless Systems Market Development and Deployment activities at the Customer executive level, with industry representatives, and with Samsung executive management focused on Customer’s 4G network build. With initial focus on Customer’s market project requirements, this position will expand to cover new market opportunities as they are identified. Develops strategy and directs the overall network implementation for assigned markets. Establishes the direction and implements plans for the market project organization to ensure program objectives are met on schedule and on budget while also developing a strong customer support and customer satisfaction reputation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned. In this position, either directly or through others, the incumbent will:
· . Develops, directs and conducts customer business relationships with customer executive management on behalf of STA for 4G projects. Conducts business meetings at all appropriate levels within the customer organization to ensure a successful Customer 4G network implementation. Provides ongoing contact with Customer headquarters and market management to ensure a high level of performance and customer satisfaction, to identify customer needs, to resolve issues and to deliver on new Customer 4G business opportunities.
· Develops operations plans, business strategies and identifies results to be achieved. Ensures that customer commitments are achieved according to plan. Represents STA as an executive leader within Customer and Samsung. Identifies and develops new opportunities and business relationships which results in the achievement of increased revenue and profitability.
· Identifies and directs the most effective application of STA’s Customer 4G project resources to achieve customer goals balanced with the best business interests of Samsung. Develops and improves operations strategies, process development plans, manufacturing, logistics, deployment, and field support methods.
· Directs staff, partners, and affiliated company representatives to provide the best and most profitable service for the Customer 4G network implementation. Provides business leadership and vision within STA Wireless Systems to inspire a high degree of productivity and business success. Ensures that company resources and personnel incentives are used to optimize increased revenue and profitability.
· Manages staff engaged in STA’s Customer 4G projects to ensure professional development and retention. With STA management support services, establishes staffing requirements, hires, fires, and evaluates the performance of assigned personnel in conformance with company policies and procedures. Develops and retains a high quality workforce.
· Prepares and directs the preparation of reports, management analysis, company and customer presentations in order to establish and report against committed business plans.
· Budgetary responsibility over $1,000,000 and expense authority under $50,000.
· Frequent travel to customer’s facilities, remote STA facilities, and industry events and trade shows.
Background/Experience to qualify for this position, the following minimal background and skill levels are required:
· A Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or technical discipline or computer-related field is preferred. Additionally, a Masters Degree in business administration or a business related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
· Relevant, prior wireless network experience of 5+ years in senior management role. Prior experience with assigned customer(s) and specific customer markets preferred.
· Must be able to write, read, analyze, interpret, present and explain wireless operational and technical issues.
· Must have experience with Microsoft Standard Office Suite and extensive use of presentation software within a Windows/NT LAN/WAN network environment.
Necessary Skills/Attributes for this position the following skills and abilities must be demonstrated at a proficient level:
· Demonstrated ability to interact at the executive and all levels within customer’s organizations and within the STA organization. The ability to negotiate with and convince others, in a potentially adversarial environment, including customer leadership, VP’s, directors & managers, staff, and vendors with opposing views to accept/approve plans, technical and project recommendations.
· The ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple business programs and simultaneous performance objectives.
· The ability to write, read, interprets, explain and act on thorough understanding of technical documents, engineering materials and contracts or related documents based on corporate legal and customer applications, engineering standards and business philosophy.
· Ability to make professional business presentations in writing, through email, reports, or orally, including complex business and technical matters to an audience of high technical skills, management and operational experience.
· Ability to direct staff leadership to achieve customer contracted objectives and team goals and to achieve results within established time frames and requirements. The ability to develop sales and business objectives, and metrics, to clearly define results to be achieved, to make decisions, to give direction, and to measure individual/team performance and business results.
Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions: The position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
· Work is generally performed in an office environment.
· Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal 75% of work time..
· Performs work under time schedules and stresses which are normally periodic or cyclical and including: time sensitive job stress, fatigue, unpaid over-time, intellectual challenge, constant technical data feedback, language barriers, and project management stress.
· Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include PC’s, printers, product inspection and test work area equipment.
· Frequently works additional hours beyond normal schedule.
· Frequent travel to customers facilities, remote STA facilities, and industry events and trade shows.
· more than 25% of time.
· Under minimal supervision with a high level of responsibility to apply general policies and guidelines where decisions are seldom monitored, consequences of decisions may adversely affect operating results and management decisions. Position has complete access to confidential company data where disclosure may jeopardize the company’s competitive position.
