Vice President-Audit Advisory Services
Description: Develop a flexible annual audit plan using an appropriate risk-based methodology including any risks or internal control concerns identified by management. Submit the plan to the Audit Committee for review and approval. Present periodic updates to the plan status to the Audit Committee. Implement the approved annual audit plan including any special tasks or projects requested by management and/or the Audit Committee. Maintain a professional audit staff with sufficient knowledge, skills, experience and professional certifications. Consider the scope of work of the external auditors and regulators, as appropriate, for the purpose of providing optimal audit coverage to the organization at a reasonable overall cost. Issue periodic reports to the Audit Committee and management summarizing results of audit activities. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Assist in the investigation of significant suspected fraudulent activities within the organization and notify management and the Audit Committee of the results. Keep the Audit Committee informed of emerging trends and successful practices in internal auditing.Qualifications:Provides independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the Companys operations. Helps the Company accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, internal control and governance processes. Provides annually an assessment of the adequacy and effectiveness of the Companys processes for controlling its activities and managing its risks. Reports significant issues related to the processes for controlling the activities of the Company and its affiliates including potential improvements to those processes and provides information concerning such issues through resolution. Periodically provides information on the status and results of the annual audit plan and the sufficiency of department resources. Coordinates with other control and monitoring functions such as risk management, compliance, security, legal, ethics, and external audit, as necessary. Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field, MBA preferred. 7-10 years of public accounting (internal or external audit) experience and 5-10 years in the Accounting, Audit or Finance field. Strong prioritization and organizational skills with a sound understanding of business risks to manage the audit plan and control projects/audit engagements. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and techniques including audit planning techniques and methods. Solid staff development/management experience. Demonstrated leadership skills. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Confident presentation style at Board level meetings. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to gain confidence and respect of Company management and departmental staff. Well developed analytical and problem solving skills. PC knowledge and Microsoft Office knowledge. International experience and foreign language skills a plus.
