Senior Benefits Analyst - Compliance
Description:The Senior Compliance Analyst is responsible for managing and minimizing risk related to ERISA and related regulation compliance. This responsibility includes ensuring compliance of qualified benefit plans (DC, DB) and welfare benefit plans with various governmental laws and regulations. This individual will also be responsible for managing all internal benefit plan audits to ensure that benefit plan provisions are being followed. Primary Job Functions/ Percentage of Time(The primary functions/responsibilities this position will perform) Lead all internal benefit plan audits to ensure compliance with ERISA and regulations issued by the IRS, DOL, PBGC, COBRA, HIPPA, FMLA and Sarbanes-Oxley. Lead and coordinate all regulatory filing obligations, including Form 5500 filings, state mandate filings, Retiree filings, etc. Establish processes and procedures for Benefits team to follow to ensure adherence to applicable compliance requirements. Work with our external auditors and vendors to coordinate audit requests. Coordinate the periodic updates to Summary Plan Descriptions, Summary Annual Reports and other plan documents and ensure timely communication to employees. Maintain awareness of proposed, new developments in legislation impacting employee benefits and communicate to Benefits team. Maintain benefit plan policies and procedures in accordance with changes in federal, state and local benefit laws and regulations. Ensure that the annual FSA discrimination testing is completed with the results reported to management. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Participate in or lead projects, as required. Perform other duties, as assigned.Qualifications:Required Education: Bachelors DegreeRequired Years of Experience: 5-7 years of increasingly responsible benefits or related analysis experience with a minimum of 3 years overseeing and ensuring benefit plan compliance. Insurance industry Compliance or related Paralegal experience with ERISA concentration is ideal.Required Technical/ Functional Skills: Strong working knowledge of relevant federal and state laws related to benefits. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. High level of customer service skills. Ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
