ARE YOU READY FOR A REWARDING CAREER? Location:  Richmond, VA Position: Electrical Estimator One of our clients, a commercial contractor in the Richmond area, is looking for a commercial electrical estimator.  They focus on commercial and governmental work and have an outstanding reputation in the area.  Due to an upcoming retirement, they would like to find a person who can step in and be able to fill a void.  They are extremely selective and offer the best compensation packages around.  The Electrical Estimator is responsible for estimating, bidding, and interpreting the written scope of work and specifications. The Estimator will participate in site visits, interface with customers, work with subcontractors, work with vendors, and work with the procurement team to acquire materials and estimates for projects. The Estimator is responsible for ensuring the bid is complete and profitable.Duties and Responsibilities: Performs accurate material take offs and prepare material lists. Estimates labor hours required to complete specified work using estimating tools. Negotiates with suppliers to obtain best available pricing. Prepares written scope of work to define exclusions, inclusions, and definition of work. Follow ups with customers for bid submission. Negotiates with customers to obtain the best value for the customer while maintaining profitability for the company. Prepares and submits any required documentation after award. Coordinate and estimate change orders throughout project. Basic Qualifications· Minimum of High School diploma· Minimum of 3 years experience as an electrical estimator for commercial projects· Secret Security Clearance is required· Firm understanding in utilizing MS Office and especially MS Excel· Ability to read blueprints, interpret job specifications, and perform material take offs· Additional Desirable Skills and Knowledge· Knowledge of MS Visio, MS Project, and Adobe PDF is desirable. Knowledge of electronic security devices, communication, and low-voltage is desirable. Knowledge of how to use MS Office is desirable. Minimum of an Associates Degree is desirable.
