Manager, Internal Audit Services

Town Sports International (TSI) is the largest network of health and fitness clubs within the Northeastern US. TSI is expanding aggressively in the New York area and is seeking a high energy professional to join our Internal Audit team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Internal Auditor that is interested in taking their career to the next level.  Minimal Travel required.

Principal Purpose of the Position:   

The primary responsibility of the Manager of Internal Audit Services is to provide risk assurance expertise and controls guidance to enable the Company to effectively and efficiently execute the Annual Internal Audit Plan.  

The individual in this role will work closely with the Director of Internal Audit to drive business process changes to ensure that the internal control systems fully support the business to enable the Company to deliver service excellence to its customers, business partners, and internal customers with consistent reliability.

Principal Responsibilities: Coordinate within the organizational structure and work with internal/external resources to successfully support the business units in their needs in connection with the accounting and/or system controls. Identify and report on the status of internal control issues, management action plans, and gap remediation plans enacted by the Company. Proactively manage the internal customer relationships and provide a periodic status update to the Director, Internal Audit Services. Support the relationship with the external auditor and/or consulting partners engaged to assess and evaluate the internal controls within the financial systems and business processes. Fully support the Sarbanes-Oxley compliance efforts and ongoing maintenance efforts. Continuously assess and recommend business process improvements and control enhancements for increased effectiveness and efficiency, more accurate and reliable reporting, and improve the overall quality of the control environment. Liaison with the external auditor in connection with the annual financial statement audit and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance audit. Provide input to further develop and refine the Company’s internal control systems. Develop and execute detailed internal audit programs for prompt, accurate, and effective communication through verbal interactions, written audit reports and other communication vehicles to foster improved controls awareness and compliance with company policy and procedures. 


Requirements
The ideal candidate will be an experienced results-oriented audit professional.  Certified (CPA, CISA, or CIA) preferred. Strong interpersonal and exceptional written and verbal communication skills required. Must be self motivated and have experience in effective decision-making.
