Bid Coordinator

Power Systems, Inc. is a leading supplier of fitness and sport training equipment and accessories. We are seeking an experienced Bid Coordinator to join our Sales Team. The ideal candidate will be a motivated team player committed to providing superior service and supporting our focus of “Customer Obsession”.

 

Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to Increase significantly the number of bid opportunities available to Power Systems, Inc in addition to thorough evaluation of all bids received to determine if Power Systems, Inc. can participate, with the goal of bidding on as many opportunities as possible. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

The successful candidate should understand basic business concepts, have the ability to read accurately and timely, legally-binding documents that can be complex. 

The candidate must understand the risk to Power Systems, Inc. of executing the documents, and represent the Company well.

 

Creativity is required to determine how to participate in certain situations without making a bad business decision; defined as those that would put Power Systems, Inc. at any significant risk:  lose money on the bid, agree to things we can't reasonably accomplish, etc.

 

Increasing the number of bid opportunities will involve research, registering with local, state, and federal agencies, organizations representing those who might solicit a bid, etc.  Using the creativity mentioned above, understanding Power Systems, Inc., its business, culture, goals, etc., through contacts made, etc. develop and implement a plan to result in more bid awards.

 

Good written and oral communication skills are very important.

 

This position will interface frequently with Sales management, Purchasing, Operations, and Executive management.

 

Travel - Very little.  The position will primarily work from the PSI facility.  There could be an occasion where the Bid Coordinator needs or wants to be present for a bid opening (because of the size, etc.) or possibly the organization soliciting the bid wants a representative from Power Systems, Inc. present.  . 

 

Education and/or Experience 

Bachelor’s degree with or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, with 2+ years of relevant web experience.
