Chenega Security and Protection Systems, LLCJob DescriptionJob Title: Training InstructorReports To: Vice President, International DivisionFLSA Status: Regular Full-Time ExemptWork Location: Subsidiary HeadquartersSummary:The Training Instructor designs, plans, and implements contract/corporate training programs, policies, and procedures. The Training Instructor will research new training techniques and suggest enhancements to existing training programs to meet contract and departmental needs. Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.• Confers with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedure, regulations, business initiatives and technologies. • Formulates teaching outlines and determines instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops. • Prepares training videotapes and/or films; maintains library of video and film training aids. • Prepares and distributes training aids such as instructional material, handouts, evaluation forms, and visual aids; sets up audiovisual equipment and makes presentations when necessary. • Coordinates training schedule with training and hiring demands. • May contract with vendors for employee participation in outside training programs. • Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, and legal compliance. • Maintains training files. • Required to follow all company personnel and safety policies, and perform all assigned duties in a safe work manner. • Must be able to travel to contract locations including overseas and domestic.• May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. • Other duties may be assigned.Qualifications/Requirements:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and/or Experience – BA degree in police science, criminal justice, corrections or a related discipline with a minimum of seven years overall experience in progressive training responsibilities with at least three years in a management role. Prior military or civilian law enforcement, immigration and customs enforcement, and corrections or detention operations experience required.Certificate, Licenses, Registrations:• Valid driver’s license• Valid US Passport• Must maintain current instructor and operator certifications for all categories of trainingClearance Level: • DoD security clearance preferred.Competencies:To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations and uses reasonWritten Communication - Writes clearly and effectively; edits work for spelling and grammar; able to read and interpret written information and recommend changes. Other Skills and Abilities - Ability to accurately interpret complex documents and contract requirements; Ability to operate fingerprinting equipment; Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Must be well organized, able to meet hard deadlines and time schedules.Physical Demands: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
