Overview:

 

The Wholesale Grocery Developer position requires an energetic and enthusiastic individual to develop a customer base and to maintain positive customer growth in the grocery specialty coffee market.  To actively add and grow accounts to our customer base quarterly from trade show, cold calls, and call-in leads.  The Wholesale Grocery Developer is responsible for reaching and exceeding the new business goals set by the Sales Director. They will create the need for more sales reps to assist them as they increase the market opportunities in the grocery division, creating a team around them for support in the continued national growth of Dillanos. 

 

Outline of Duties and Responsibilities:

 

National Area Development: Local and National trade show involvement and networkingTraveling across country to visit current customers and to work on closing accounts. Acting Project Manager with current and potential customers, coordinating with our Marketing and Graphics Departments, and Production teams on customer projectsConsulting for new business start-upBusiness auditsCOGSMarketingProject Manager for systems and tasks involving acquisition of new business.

 

Existing Account Management:Customer service for existing accountsConsulting for business profitability Maintain quality relationshipsDeveloping systems for training, franchising, growth, product introductionsOngoing customer reviews

 Senior Account Management:Builds long-term account value and executive level relationships within key accounts. Designs and recommends sales and marketing programs.  Delivers business reviews, including performance measures, labor management, revenue generation, site development, trend analysis, program and product initiatives and strategic planning. Manages partnerships and directs sales and development activities to achieve sales and profit goals.Negotiates national account agreements.  Develops proposals, delivers presentations, and gains consensus on term contracts.Directs new program implementation and national account rollouts.Develop successful business plans and price/packaging for wholesale customers.Leads/trains on product introductions

 

 

 

 

 

Job Requirements:Must have a strong background in coffee and/or beverage sales and distribution.Must have 2+ years experience with direct sales to grocery accounts.Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities concurrently  OrganizedReliable and full of integrityAbility to apply consultative skills in a business environmentKnowledge of business planning and financial performance measures.Knowledge of hospitality, food service management, grocery, or consumer product industry.EntrepreneurialMust be self-motivated and able to make your own scheduleAble to work as a team member as well as independentlyMust have reliable transportationAbility to mix with any crowdAble to work odd hoursAble to travel across country 10% of the timeExcellent computer skills (MS Office, and Outlook)

The way you conduct yourself at Dillanos and in the field making sales calls, training, consulting, traveling and meeting with customers is an opportunity to show who we are as a company. Coffee is a full time business. It exceeds the normal 9-5 day job. Some customers businesses are open 24 hours. This means that Dillanos has customers that are selling coffee around the clock. You will be required to make sure they always are able to sell coffee. When a customer needs training, emergency deliveries, questions about coffee or product. You will need to facilitate getting the support they need. Make sure that you are always going above and beyond what they expect.

 

 

 

 

Be frugal without compromising quality, efficiency, accuracy or the value received by the customer.

You will be faced with many challenges when it comes to giving customers the things they need. Make sure that when you are in a situation where you have to make choices in regards to a customer you are resourceful and get the customer everything they need without breaking the bank.

 

 

Take initiative and pride in expanding our understanding of the coffee industry.

You are a liaison to the customers you manage. You will be required to educate your potential and current customers. When you are speaking to customers you need to be up-to-date on trends and standards in the coffee industry. Things are always changing so push you to constantly research and dive into coffee industry knowledge. The more you know about your business and your customers’ business the better resource you become for your customers.

 

Constantly create and improve systems to increase accuracy, efficiency and consistency; always putting the customers ease of doing business first.

Any chance you have to improve yourself at your job and better your job performance could be an opportunity to share. If you discover ways to accurately and consistently make improvements to your job or other things at Dillanos, it could also improve the overall department and or the company.

This is a relationship driven position. You are going to be building relationships with customers, co-workers, other vendors and competitors. The better you are at communicating the better you will be at your job.

You manage dozens of customers. Many customers may require numerous members of the department and people in the company to assist you in following up with projects. Be clear and precise on the expectations and end result of everything you do.
