Sr. Usability Engineer Amazon.com is searching for a Senior Usability Engineer to join our team of top-notch Usability Engineers and User Experience Designers. As an Amazon usability engineer, you'll partner with project teams to positively impact the online shopping experience for millions of Amazon customers around the world. Responsibilities: Partner with feature and UX teams to develop and implement user-centered design and research methodologies throughout the development lifecycle Utilize a variety of usability methodologies (qualitative and quantitative), including: usability lab studies, rapid/iterative testing, design reviews, heuristic evaluations, design mapping, task analysis, site visits, focus groups, surveys, personas, scenarios and others Present findings and influence feature team and executive decision making Be a strong and vocal user advocate Understand and communicate key user experience considerations across teams Manage research projects with in-house teams and external vendors Work effectively in cross-functional projects that may span across divisions Minimum 4 years of professional experience designing and conducting usability studies (both field work and iterative lab studies), analyzing data and working successfully with project teams to drive results into design and development throughout the project lifecycle Masters or PhD degree in Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Technical Communication, Human Computer Interaction, or related field Experience working with multi-disciplinary Design and Development teams Strong understanding of web design processes Strong project management and coordination skills with the ability to handle multiple projects Great communication skills - write, speak, and present information effectively and persuasively across communication settings Ecommerce or web usability experience a plus
