Safety Training Specialist

Roundy's Supermarkets, Inc., one of the nation's premier grocery retailers, is searching for a Safety Training Specialist for their home office location in Milwaukee, WI. Company-owned and operated supermarkets include Pick 'n Save stores and Copps Food Centers in Wisconsin and Rainbow Foods in Minnesota.

 

REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or general education degree; two years experience with safety/training and two years experience with insurance coverage; or equivalent combination of education and experience;Knowledge of OSHA written programs required;Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation, or other industrial hygiene training preferred;Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel, Access and Word, are also required.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides OSHA and general safety training to retail store employees, including emergency procedures and powered industrial truck training.Reviews and develops training materials for all safety programs.Coordinates activities of all company wide safety committees, assists in the development of these committees and provides monthly materials to help them reach their goals.Audits all retail and non-retail operations to check on compliance with all company safety programs, OSHA standards and identification of physical hazards to customers and employees.Works with stores to identify loss trends and minimize losses for both workers’ compensation and general liability losses.Assists stores with purchasing safety equipment and applying appropriate safety signage.Assists in preparation and distribution of the OSHA Written Program, MSDS manual for all divisions and retail stores. Helps respond to OSHA citations when issued to operations.Communicates and determines emphasis of loss control recommendations to stores and divisions in a concise, bullet-point format for response and follow up.Maintains high level of customer satisfaction to internal customers.Acts as back-up for Risk Manager and completes special projects when needed.

 

WORK SCHEDULE:  40+ Hours. Salary Position.
