To support our continued growth we are looking for an experienced Photo Merchandise Supervisor. This job contributes to REI's success by assisting in the development and implementation of industry best practices for merchandise tracking and production workflow, supervising a staff of Photo Merchandise Coordinators, a Photo Technical Advisor, a Production Assistant and Freelance Assistants, and using technology to reduce shrinkage, and increase productivity. Models and acts in accordance with REI's guiding values and mission. RESPONSIBILITIES * Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the organization promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership and teamwork to achieve business results. * Supports the implementation of company programs, procedures, methods and practices to promote REI key messages. * Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results. * Ensures employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements. * Oversees training and development of employees directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions. * Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews. * Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to employees in order to achieve department, company and customer results. * Establishes and maintains visibility within the department. * Monitors operational statistics, reports trends, variances and issues, and takes appropriate action. * Assists in the development of current and future Sample/Merchandise Tracking systems. * Supervises a team of Photo Merchandise Coordinators, Production Assistant, Photo Technical Advisor and Freelance Assistants. * Ensures that photo deadlines are met by working in tandem with the Photo Studio Producers & Photography Supervisor to deliver merchandise on time. * Supervises the coordination of all product shipments entering and leaving the Photo Studio, providing accurate documentation. * Coordinates the merchandise support of all Photo Studio jobs, utilizing outside resources when necessary. * Assists in the development of the annual Photo Studio Sample Warehouse budget. * Responsible for store inventory control and results. If you'd like to be rewarded for initiative, effort, and creative thought, come join us! * Bachelor's Degree preferred * 5+ years experience working in a shipping and receiving environment * Previous supervisory experience * Proven experience developing and implementing efficient workflow procedures * Demonstrated exceptional organizational planning skills * Ability to work cross departmentally to problem solve * Proficiency in both Mac and PC platforms * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications * Good written and verbal communication skills * Knowledge of outdoor gear and apparel * Builds capacity of individuals and teams through effective employee development, involvement, communication, and supervision efforts REI is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
