Territory Manager
The Subway® Group, franchisor of the #1 restaurant chain in the U.S. and Canada, has more than 29,600+ restaurants worldwide – and still counting! We are looking for a “Territory Manager” to join our team in the Seattle, Washington area.
The Territory Manager will lead, train, and set goals for a team of staff in addition to expanding company growth in the assigned territory by adding stores and building sales. This position will provide specific knowledge and expertise in the development of a specific area of the territory and the assigned franchisees within that territory and overall, will provide customized business direction to assist Franchise owners in maximizing profitability by utilizing operating systems and support programs. Will also be responsible to implement business growth by locating sites, negotiate leases with landlords, and provide direction in completion of floor plans, ordering of equipment and restaurant openings.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Coach and Counsel Franchisees to reach territory goals and train and teach franchises, managers and employees with regard to Company goals and initiatives. Build territory relations by communicating with franchisees via voicemail, e-mail, territory meetings, individual franchise meetings and written communications.Sell franchises to existing and potential franchisees, screen candidates, conduct franchise sales seminars, follow up on lead lists, meet with existing owners to discuss goals and future development plans, and assist in reaching owner’s goals.Identify locations, contact landlords, negotiate terms of leases and liability, measure sites, prepare offers, complete site evaluations, and submit all required documents for approval and processing. Conduct Site review as required.Assist Franchisees with the design and construction phase of development. Complete all required documents to receive completed floor plans and order equipment for all new locations. Perform evaluations when necessary, establish goals for target stores, resolve outstanding operational issues, set and meet remodel targets, improve levels of operational excellence, conduct franchisee meetings, communicate and train new initiatives, and create newsletters. Maintain communication to keep all franchisees up to date on relevant information and review store evaluations monthly and communicate information back to staff.Coach and manage Territory Staff. Develop and provide education through training materials that will enhance and support the education of staff and franchisee operations within the territory.Build relationships and develop good working relationships with landlords, territory staff, headquarters staff, and franchisees.
Position requirements include; 4+ years related experience in the QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) Industry, experience with leasing, negotiating, and strong operational background preferred. BA/BS preferred. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be proficient in the following software; MS Outlook, Excel Work, and PowerPoint. Extensive travel may be required
