Taco Cabana - Houston Regional Human Resource
We are one out of three distinct brands from Carrols Corporation, and part of one of the largest restaurant companies. Taco Cabana is growing rapidly in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and looking for individuals who are hungry for success. We are celebrating our 30th anniversary, and due to our growth are adding a regional human resource manager position in Houston.
This position will be responsible to recruit and maintain the required number of qualified managers for the Taco Cabana restaurants within the region. Responsible for educating managers on company policy, monitoring restaurants for legal compliance and guiding managers to successful crew recruitment. Also responsible for responding to employee relations complaints and investigation and closure of these complaints.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Communicate company policy and understanding thereof, through educational programs or market meetings. Evaluate the need for management staff, recruitment, evaluation and hiring of new managers.
Ø Follow up with trainees during training program
Ø Handle grievances relating to the managers and crew.
Ø Participate in long and short term management strategic planning.
Ø Oversee the analysis, maintenance and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
Ø Write and deliver presentations to corporate officers or government officials regarding human resources policies and practices.
Ø Promote retention of salaried management.
Ø Ensure lawful personnel practices within the region.
Ø Assist in the control of hourly turnover within the region.
Ø Administer incentive programs as outlined by company policy
Ø Prepare and maintain recruitment and turnover records and files.
Ø Advise and update Division Leaders regarding proper interviewing techniques and selection criteria.
Ø Maintain an effective level of communication between the Region Director/Region Vice President and Division Leaders concerning all hires, transfers, terminations and, promotions to ensure awareness of all personnel activity.
Ø Ensure compliance of Taco Cabana’s MSI, drug screening policy and background checks.
Ø Advise and update restaurant management personnel and District Supervisors of the Personnel Policies and Procedures in order to ensure uniform compliance and implementation.
Ø Perform periodic audits in TACO CABANA restaurants
Ø Conduct periodic interviews with management personnel on a follow-up basis to assist the District Supervisors in identifying problems within the restaurants.
Ø Assist the Region Director/Region Vice President and District Supervisors target and develop training managers.
Ø Assist with management level and limited team member seminars as necessary.
Ø Assist the Regional Recruiter with recruiting efforts within the region (when necessary).
Ø Conduct follow-up interviews with newly hired management personnel to ensure a basic understanding of policies and benefits.
Ø Assist in the set-up of regional meetings.
Ø Conduct internal investigations of harassment complaints and follow-up training.
Ø Conduct exit interviews.
Ø Other duties as assigned.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Ø Microsoft Office Suite
Ø PeopleSoft., preferred, but not required
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Ø Experience in Fast Food Management required.
Ø Bachelor’s Degree in Business desired.
Ø Bilingual Spanish, required
