Senior Finance Manager
Description:JOB SUMMARY Responsible for financial planning, forecasting, and analysis functions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Responsible for creating, establishing, and implementing new policies, procedures, playbooks and systems from scratch for a new business account. Conducts financial analysis and management reporting of budget results. Key decision maker for managing Financial Planning & Analysis for key project budgets. Will be working with a $1.5 billion budget. Supervises finance staff including training and monitoring performance issues. Continuously evaluates departmental staffing requirements. Conducts monthly and quarterly financial forecasting for revenue, gross profit, net income and numbers of transactions. Conducts monthly, quarterly, and annual fluctuation analysis of internal financial results. Responsible for executive reporting on development portfolio. Manages the development and maintenance of budgeting software. Establishes overall departmental priorities and ensures that all deadlines are met. Other duties may be assigned.Qualifications:SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages a group of 6-7 Financial Analysts. Responsible for identifying training needs, tracking performance, coaching, and motivating direct reports. Responsible for hiring, terminating, compensation, and performance evaluation. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year College or university and a minimum of ten years of related experience and/or trainingExperience in Construction Accounting idealAbility to work closely with clients at the senior manager and executive levels. Must have strong communication skills and ability to excel to meet client demands, and ability to handle a high caliber of growth.COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret various types of business documents. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches, and articles in a pre-designed style and format. Ability to effectively respond to complex inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, supervisor, and/or management. Ability to present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees. FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Able to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts complex financial/business analysis including the preparation of complex reports. Prepares and manages departmental budget. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of options in varying situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills. OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software. Must be comfortable learning new software systems. Experience with Excel is a MUST. SAP/SAPPS/Project Insight experience a plus.SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY Decisions made with understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines.
