Position Profile:
We have an outstanding opportunity in our Events & Conferences division for an energetic and motivated Marketing Coordinator in our Falls Church, VA office. As Marketing Coordinator you will be responsible for assisting the marketing department with the creation and execution of the marketing plans for the business unit’s industry-leaving trade shows and conferences. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Working with the marketing team on the creation of digital and printed materials to promote the events
· Coordinating and managing registration for conferences and assisting the operations team onsite as necessary
· Writing and editing sponsor sales and attendee collateral, to include sales sheets, print ads, and emails
· Compiling list requests and executing promotional e-mails through 1105's proprietary email system
· Updating weekly spreadsheet-based reports, creating charts, and manipulating data with Microsoft Excel
· Managing event websites which includes timely updating of content and registration database setup. Basic knowledge of HTML is required.
· Researching government IT market for data points for use in attendee and sponsor collateral
· Outreach to associations and trade publications for barters; proactively find new groups to partner with
· Assisting marketing managers and marketing directors as needed
· Less than 10% travel
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
· At least 2 years of tradeshow, conference, or association event marketing. Candidates with a background in circulation or membership marketing experience will also be considered.
· Experience in working with interdepartmental teams
· Professionalism when interacting with clients and attendees
· A passion for communications, and attitude of initiative, and a sense of project ownership
· Competency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, required. Experience with Photoshop, Dreamweaver, or FrontPage or other graphics/HTML programs is a strong plus
· Understanding of and experience working in the government market is a plus
· Preference will be given to candidates with experience in direct response marketing or list management
