The Miwaukee Journal Sentinel is currently offering part time 2nd and 3rd shift newspaper assembly positions at our Burnham location. Excellent opportunity to earn extra money working a minimum of two 4-5 hour shifts per week. Clean and friendly warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibility is to insert pre-printed advertisements into a jacket/book. Attend to stacker, tyer and inserting equipment in order to facilitate the process from jacket/book to the cart loader for distribution to transportation. Monitor the quality of the jacket/book and bundles to ensure the highest integrity of the customer's product. Assist in the quality control. Maintains cleanliness while on the production floor. Works as a team member to provide assistance to others and follow the work instructions not provided in this description by the Supervisor. Adheres to the Company Code of Ethics to ensure policies and procedures are maintained which create a positive work environment.
Downloads finished printed papers onto staged pallets for delivery or
insertion. Works at press speeds 30-85 cph,uses hand mules" to prepare
work site. Performs quality control checks to ensure papers are downloaded
neat and orderly.
Attends to stacker and tyer equipment. Facilitate process in mataining equipment.
Clears paper jams and performs quality checks to ensure bundles are distributed to transportation in a timely manner. Performs quality control checks toensure bundles
meets department quality standards.
Ensures work area is clear of paper and or debris. Maintains
a safe work environment. Follows instructions directed by the shift
Foreman/Manager in a timely manner.
Requirements
Must possess High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to stand or walk during a shift, lift bundles of papers weighing up to 25 lbs regularly
Ability to push or pull bin and carts weighing up to 1000 lbs.
Ability to read and interpret instructions such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Previous manufacturing or production experience essential.
