Editorial Assistant

Schlager Group, a high-volume publisher and e-content provider, is expanding. We seek a detail-oriented multitasker to serve as an editorial assistant on large-scale, award-winning reference series. Our projects include both print encyclopedias and cutting-edge technologies for delivering authoritative information. We specialize in history and literature projects, and we pride ourselves on creating innovative resources that meet the highest possible editorial standards. Situated in Dallas's vibrant Uptown neighborhood, we offer an open, flexible, and upbeat work environment. We value the same qualities in prospective team members.





The editorial assistant will contribute to the production of high-profile literary series by corresponding with authors and freelancers, posting volume schedules, tracking freelancer availability, and sending out and checking in assignments. The editorial assistant will also run mailings, maintain project databases, and perform light administrative duties. Ideal candidates will be highly organized, computer-literate individuals who love to communicate and thrive on deadlines. Starting salary: $25,000, with excellent benefits that include health, dental, and vision plans. A great opportunity for book lovers to join a fast-paced publishing team.

 





Skills/Requirements: Four-year degree, preferably in the humanities or social sciences Excellent organizational skills, inferential logic, and attention to detail Superb written and oral communication Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that requires flexibility and creativity Ability to multitask and consistently meet established deadlines Working knowledge of computers and familiarity with software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Interest in literature a plusE-mail cover letter and résumé to hr@schlagergroup.com
