Title/Role: Curriculum Developer

Department: Training Location: Houston

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Apply ISD methodology to develop materials for instructor-led courses in LWD/MWD tool operations; surface system computers and software; and tool repair, maintenance, and manufacturing operations. Apply ISD methodology to develop web-based courses, help functions, and videos related to LWD/MWD tool operations, repair, maintenance, and manufacturing. Create or modify graphic images, videos, flowcharts, and diagrams for use in manuals, PowerPoints, and web-based training materials. Write reports, newsletter articles, and other documents to support Training Department efforts as needed.  Interview subject matter experts and conduct research to learn tool operations and technology for curriculum development projects. Proofread and/or edit technical documents and training material written by others. Develop and support initiatives to continuously improve the quality of the Training Department. Required Skills



Education:

Bachelor's degree in curriculum design, a communications related field, or technical subject. Prefer a master's degree in curriculum design.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years experience developing technical training, preferably related to oil well drilling operations or downhole tools. Knowledge, skills and abilities: Excellent writing and communication skills. Excellent interviewing and interpersonal skills for obtaining information from subject matter experts. A positive and respectful regard for others and the ability to work well with a team and large groups of people. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Adobe Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, and other graphics applications; a solid understanding of HTML and web based applications; and familiarity with SCORM compliant course development and learning management systems.
