Perform ongoing quality review of current copyediting, both internally and with various suppliers. Create custom style guides for various journals. Work with suppliers to use electronic pre-edit tools. Maintain database of all freelancers and assignments. Assist in random quality review of published articles. Qualifications Must have a thorough knowledge of medical terminology as well as of English grammar and usage. Knowledge of AMA style a definite advantage. Must be detail-oriented and analytical, and able to review and correct mid- to high-level medical copyediting. Having worked directly with authors is also an advantage, as is some familiarity with electronic editing.
