Design Gallery Sales Specialist

Prestigious New York design gallery seeks someone to sell works of design and designart to collectors, designers, gallery visitors at its Melrose Avenue location.

 

Requirements:

Three to five years of experience in high end sales at a fine artgallery or design gallery selling limited edition design, or in the luxurymarket.  Knowledge of thecontemporary art market especially the Los Angeles market and its majorfigures, including collectors, gallerists, dealers, and art consultants.Knowledge of the global limited edition design market a plus. A Bachelor'sdegree is required. A degree in Fine Art or Art History is preferred. Must beproficient with a Mac.

 

Essential Functions:

-Must convey extensive product knowledge to clients and potentialclients in a compelling manner appropriate to a top contemporary art gallery inperson, by phone and email.

-Work to secure new sales channels and new clients,with appropriate outreach to new prospects

-Strategize and coordinate all salesactivities with Gallery Director and Owners

-Manage existing accounts whileactively pursuing new ones.  

-Perform with sales numbers of $80,000 + monthly

-Build and maintain visual image look books for clients

-Maintain and organize a large personal and gallery mailing list.

-Participate in meetings about the execution and implementation ofgallery exhibitions and marketing.

-Assist Gallery Director in sales related projects pertaining to the gallery.
