Program Officer for Healthy Birth Outcomes Initiative
The UW School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as Program Officer for the Healthy Birth Outcomes Initiative. Funded by the Wisconsin Partnership Program (WPP), this initiative aims to reduce racial and ethnic health disparities in birth outcomes in Wisconsin. The WPP promotes health research, education, practice, and policy through its statewide grant making programs.
The Program Officer will play a critical role in developing and managing the Healthy Birth Outcomes Initiative, provide leadership and coordinate local programs designed to address complex health issues, gaps in the delivery of health services, and improve maternal and child health outcomes in the state. The position will establish new partnerships and alliances that further the goals and objectives of the initiative.
The successful candidate will have at least five to ten years of relevant experience, an extensive network in the government and not for profit public health environment and a familiarity with community organizations operating in this field.
Salary is negotiable.
Graduate degree in the public health or health care field preferred. Applications must be received by September 30, 2008.
UW-Madison is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer. We promote excellence through diversity and encourage all qualified individuals to apply.
