Manager, Hub Engineer Support

Job Description:

Responsible for managing field and corporate engineers/analysts to ensure hub process are properly supported and engineered. This includes developing planning tools, monitoring and tracking hub performance, creating cost models, implementing and supporting new technology development.  

 

Additionally, the Manager of hub engineering support is responsible for developing the financial budget and plan for dock and clerical wage, capital budgets for equipment needs, analyzing new product offerings, hub performance, and developing and implementing plans to ensure that budgeted levels are met or exceeded. 

 

Education:

Minimum of BS Engineering (Industrial, operations engineering, engineering technology).  BS Engineering is preferred.  Graduate degree in Business Management or Engineering is a plus.

 

Minimum year(s) of experience in the following areas:

Position requires 5-6 years experience in small package, mail sorting or transportation industry. In depth knowledge of work measurement techniques (MOST), process engineering, cost analysis, project management and scheduling, and strong management, analytical, human relations and communications skills preferred.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.  Strong leadership, time management, and organizational skills.  Must be willing to lead project teams from concept to implementation.  Must be well versed in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access,

 

Work Environment

Regular travel to hubs to review operational needs, provide engineering direction and support.  Approximately 95% travel required. Weekend travel may be required.
