Accounts Payable Specialist

Multiple firms in the Birmingham area are searching to fill numerous openings in the accounts payable department!  Openings are available for candidates that are looking to get a foot in the door, recent accounting graduates, or those more experienced candidates that may be ready to make a change.  Successful candidates will be well-organized, dependable, able to multi-task, and able to work within a team or individually.  Some responsibilities include processing incoming vendor invoices, auditing check requests, reconciling vendor account statements, ensuring invoices are properly approved, and maintaining vendor files.  Duties may also include generating 1099 forms and assisting with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.  Ideal candidate will have proficiency with MS Excel and some other accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Peachtree, or ADP.
