Senior Environmental Analyst (826)
GENERAL SUMMARY: Position is on the research staff of a private, not-for-profit management consulting firm headquartered in McLean, VA. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Include but are Not Limited To: Lead project teams in the delivery of a variety of services to include: strategic planning and management; policy development, enterprise sustainability, climate change, green house gas accounting, compliance, conservation, cleanup, prevention, environmental management systems, environmental information systems, environmentally preferable purchasing, information management, and energy efficiency and management. Conduct a variety of studies and analysis to include strategic planning (e.g. scenario analysis, visioning, policy analysis, long-term milestone development, cost-benefit analysis, budget development, guidance development, or market surveying), program management support, (e.g. performance assessment and benchmarking, risk assessment, cost analysis, business enterprise architecture development, annual performance reporting, and customer satisfaction surveys), and technical support (e.g. compliance audits, carbon accounting and mitigation, LEED existing building assessments, and energy efficiency assessments). Keep abreast of government agency requirements in various program areas including climate change, sustainability, water resources, air, hazardous materials and waste, green buildings, alternative fuel vehicles, restoration, pollution prevention, and the National Environmental Policy Act. Maintain successful client relationships and manage budget and schedule for multiple projects. Serve effectively on project teams within a matrix managed organization. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Masters degree in public administration, business administration, policy analysis or appropriate technical area, with an undergraduate degree in engineering, economics, policy, or other physical science with application to environmental issues. 6-10 years professional experience in the environmental field. Applicants to this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Must be available for occasional travel. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Professional registration (e.g. P.E., PMP, REM, LEED AP, etc)Proven record in positions of increasing responsibility in analyzing organizational environmental issues, regulations, standards, risks, and setting funding priorities. Substantial experience in maintaining effective relationships with government clients and in developing new government business. Superior analytical and communication skills both oral and written.
