SENIOR MAJOR GIFTS OFFICER (FUNDRAISING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED)
The American Red Cross, Southeastern Pennsylvania (SEPA) Chapter is currently in need of a experienced fundraising professional to work in the capacity of Senior Major Gifts Officer. The Senior Major Gifts Officer is primarily responsible for managing a portfolio of individual and foundation major donors for the Southeastern Chapter of the American Red Cross. This will ential managing the Red Cross Council Program as well as the leadership annual giving society composed of individual donors who contribute $1,000 or more.
The Senior Major Gifts Officer will be responsible for the following daily activities:
· Conduct donor visits
· Make stewardship calls
· Coordinate the solicitation strategy of Red Cross Council donors.
· Oversee the direct mail renewal and acquisition campaign to the Red Cross Council.
· Direct the acknowledgement process of major gifts.
· Plan and execute cultivation and stewardship events for major donors and prospects.
· Manage recognition of donors in the annual report
· Maintain the pipeline of prospects and major donors. Track actions and next steps in the financial
development database (PeopleSoft).
· Conduct prospect research and create profiles for major donors.
Manage assigned County Boards
· Prepare materials for monthly meetings of the assigned counties.
· Serve as a liaison between the County Board and the Chapter office.
· Meet with Board Members to recruit new donors and board members for the Red Cross
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a member of the Financial Development team, attending fundraising events and opportunities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the Leadership Gifts Coordinator. May supervise volunteers and/or interns. Carries out interactions in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, training and directing work; completing evaluations as required; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three to five years experience in direct fundraising. Demonstrated ability to cultivate, solicit and stewards major donors. Possess good organization and project management skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and article for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to present information to senior management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situation where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current Driver’s License
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. PeopleSoft experience is preferred, but not required.

The Salary Range for the position is 51k to 63k annually depending on qualification and experience. The American Red Cross, Southeastern Pennsylvania also provides comprehensive benefits including paid leave time.
