Executive Director - Spokane Valley HUB
The Spokane Valley HUB is looking for an Executive Director committed to its Mission to make a constructive difference in the community by threading faith, education, business, civic and sport interests together with the Vision of the organization.
The Executive Director will be charged with providing effective, comprehensive and integrated management of the Valley HUB as it moves into the next phase of its development.
The Executive Director will be the organization’s chief spokesperson by using the HUB’s faith-based mission, vision and values as a guide in representing it to its many constituencies, both internal and external, throughout the community. The scope of responsibility will include but is not limited to the following:
Fundraising and Development Create a capital development plan with a diverse, sustainable funding base spanning foundation and government grants, strategic partnerships, corporate and individual donors, government agencies and new funding sources. Develop a capital campaign that will require hiring a campaign coordinator, create a “road show” to explain the HUB value proposition and form a community advisory board to provide feedback and guidance. Develop and manage the organization’s budget in partnership with the Board.
Marketing and Public Relations Plans Develop a marketing plan defining the target market of the HUB, ideal program offerings, collateral needs and key target sponsors. Research the plausibility of using the HUB premises for non-sports events inclusive of the broader community, fitness related programs and partnership opportunities with other sports and non-sports facilities. Develop a public relations plan that will create a media list, define target publications and outlets, create a weekly event calendar and HUB fact sheets, identify possible website link sharing opportunities and establish a HUB new release policy.
Outreach and Communications Provide oversight for all internal and external communications in collaboration with the Board and staff. Serve as an effective spokesperson for Valley HUB, its mission, clients, supporters and programs to the community. Support organizational partnerships and programming in accordance with the mission of the HUB. Cultivate key relationships on behalf of the organization through outreach and collaboration across the community. Function as both the internal and external face of the organization.
Financial Management Grow operating revenues established by the Board on an annual basis over the next five years through diversified funding strategies. Assure adequate control and accounting of funds, including developing and maintaining sound financial practices. Work with the Board and staff to prepare a budget and see that the organization functions within its financial parameters. Assure maintenance of office records and documents and ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulators (such as annual information returns, payroll withholding and reporting.) Assure that funds are dispersed according to contract and grant requirements and donor designation.
Human Resource Management Manage all human resource functions. Maintain a culture that attracts, retains and motivates a diverse group of top-quality staff and volunteers.
Facilities Management Manage the entire HUB facility and campus located in the Spokane Valley. Provide direction and oversight in matters of technology. Work with appropriate personnel and committees to ensure that the HUB is properly maintained within public health and safety guidelines and rules and regulations approved by the Board.
Governance and Leadership Assist the Board in providing vision and strategic leadership to the organization and work collaboratively with the Board providing ideas for expansion of programs by understanding the changing nature and needs of the community; Represent the organization in the community through the building of partnerships. Work closely with the Board and the organization’s supporters to address ongoing operational needs of the organization.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree with a Master Degree preferred and a minimum of five to seven years of increasingly responsible senior management experience. Must have a successful track record in communications, marketing and fundraising. Knowledge of computers and related Microsoft software applications, email and internet programs as well as general knowledge of relationship management tools.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Recently demonstrated fund-raising and development successes in the funding environment.
Management experience and demonstrated success leading major initiatives and driving toward ambitious strategic goals. .
Excellent communication skills (written/verbal and listening); experienced in public speaking with strong presentational skills. Recognized people skills.
Strong fiscal skills with experience in creating and controlling operating and program budgets of comparable size or greater.
Experienced in marketing and communications, designing effective campaign collateral and building brand awareness of the organization.
Must be well organized with ability to multi-task.
Working knowledge of technology used in programs and fundraising a must.
Demonstrated record of leadership and success in strategic planning, organizational development and problem solving.
Ability to work a flexible 40-50 hour week, including nights, holidays and weekends.
