Corporate Sponsorship Officer
The Corporate Sponsorship Officer position serves an important role in contributing to the success of Children’s Medical Center fundraising efforts and positioning in the community. This position is responsible for soliciting and securing corporate sponsorships for special fundraising events benefiting Children’s Medical Center Dallas and other events/initiatives, as identified.This position requires an experienced development professional who possesses a clear understanding of the fundamentals of fundraising, with a particular emphasis on event sponsorship and cause marketing.Its chief responsibilities are to:Develop and cultivate strategic business relationships with major corporate sponsors and partners;Manage a $1M+ sponsorship portfolio annually;Work closely with the special events and communication teams to ensure all sponsorships are relevant;Fulfill all event sponsorship benefitsRequires a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations or business related field. Must have five or more years experience in fundraising, marketing, sponsorship development, project management or account management.Must be familiar with the non-profit environment and possess knowledge of corporate philanthropy.Fundraising experience should include prospect identification and management, and the development of solicitation strategies with staff and volunteers. Specific Skills and Special AbilitiesProven ability to work successfully in a major gift fundraising program;Strong marketing skills and the ability to navigate corporate cultures;Proven ability to solicit sponsorships from a variety of businesses and corporations;Ability to negotiate and execute agreements;Ability to accomplish a variety of complex tasks simultaneously;Management skills to work effectively for meeting multiple deadlines in a fast-paced and diverse environment;Ability and willingness to be a team player and work within a team-oriented environment;Interpersonal skills to work effectively with hospital staff, physicians, donors, prospects, volunteers, and the public;Ability to be a self-starter and initiate programmatic activities independently; organize, set priorities, and complete work in a timely manner despite deadlines and competing requirements. Must be able to succeed with minimal supervision;Demonstrate effective oral communication and presentation skills to articulate – with passion – the mission and vision of Children’s;Demonstrate solid written communication skills to prepare and edit effective correspondence, proposals, and creative solicitation and marketing materials to articulate – with passion – the mission and vision of Children’s;Effective organizational skills to track sponsorship progress, finances and relevant discussions.
