Communications Director
Primary Function: To develop the marketing and communicationsplan for the church; including, but not limited to, all internal and externalcommunications and marketing opportunities of Rolling Hills Community Church. In addition, carrying out this role as amember of the RHCC staff team by which one leads, nurtures and serves theoverall church body as we endeavor to fulfill the Mission Statement of thechurch –
“Rolling HillsCommunity Churchexists to bring glory to God by reaching people for Christ and nurturing them in the faith through inspiredworship, genuine community and passionateministry that transforms lives in our neighborhoods and throughout the world.”
General Function: To work under the direct supervision ofthe Business Director and in cooperation with the leadership of the church incarrying out the five functions of the New Testament church: worship, evangelism, discipleship, fellowshipand ministry for the entire church.
Specific JobDescription: Support and undergird the work of the church from a Communications and Marketing perspective. People are our product – therefore, the Communications Director will support the work of ministry within the Body so that we can more effectively impact lives for the glory of God.
Communications Oversee the production of all print media of the church, including editor of the monthly newsletter and scheduling weekly worship guide inserts then working with designer on layout. In addition, oversee the development of new print media for the church, as a whole, as well as individual ministries. Work closely with local printers to maximize the marketing budget. Coordinate signage and lobby ministry areas on Sunday mornings in order to present a uniform look and to raise the awareness of ministry opportunities among attenders.
·Creatively implement a strategy to communicatewith and keep informed three different groups of people: regular members, irregular attenders, and ourcommunity at large Develop budgets for all internal and external communication areas and work within those guidelines Oversee the regular evaluation of the cost, quality and effectiveness of church communication channels and vehicles and develop and implement plans for improvement Stay current on creative communication and technological trends and look for opportunities to use this information to more effectively communicate with the community and the Rolling Hills Community Church family
Creatively plan and implement logistics and marketing for all church-wide events. This includes developing budgets for all church-wide events and working within those guidelines. Church-wide events include: Annual 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament and Family FunZone Church-wide Picnic Church ‘n’ Chicken Baptisms Ordinations Other events as opportunities arise In addition, work with pastors on events that are included in specific ministry areas such as: Christmas at Rolling Hills, Good Friday Service, Cool Springs Kids Kamp, etc.
Building:
·Create the Rolling Hills Brand in the physicalfacility. This includes:
oAll kiosks and ministry booths
oSignage
oMovie posters and internal advertisements
oAdvertisements for flat screen TV ads
oAny other marketing seen fit for the newbuilding.
·Create an external marketing plan for marketingour move to our new facility, including :
oPrint ads
oDirect mail-outs
oLocal news and media outlets
oAny other external marketing seen fit
·Create an internal marketing and outreach planaround our move to the new facility, including:
oInternal ad campaign empowering the congregationto personally invite others to our new facility.
oAll print media and video outlets needed for adcampaign.
Marketing Oversee the implementation of a comprehensive publicity/media plan for major church events (church-wide and community-wide activities, concerts and special speakers) Work with graphic designers, staff and ministry team leaders to maintain the Rolling Hills Community Church “brand” in all print and electronic communications Provide creative counsel and direction for various ministries of the church as they organize and produce various events and services Oversee all creative marketing resources for worship services, for example: videos, creative skits, music, etc. Create marketing plan to gain support for Justice and Mercy International, RHCC’s 5013C Missions organization. Oversee JMI website and all communications. Oversee the design, marketing, and content management of the RHCC website (www.rollinghillscommunity.org) and continue to seek new technologies and opportunities to improve the effectiveness of web-related communication with all ministries. Work with web designers and graphic designers within the church in order to help individual ministries develop web tools that enable them to communicate effectively with their ministry team members.
