Position: Certified Welder Department: Pipeline Operations Location: Casper Wyoming This position requires pipeline knowledge, experience, and capability to deal with pipeline issues. This person must be a self-motivator and willing to take on a range of pipeline responsibilities. The job is to maintain a crude oil pipeline keeping it in good, safe operating condition and in compliance with government regulations. Must be able to accommodate travel and overtime as required.Responsibilities Candidate will be a certified welder or have the ability to become certified in an agreed upon amount of time. Be able to work and communicate safely and effectively with fellow employees, contractors and public customers. Maintain welding tools, truck and equipment. Expected to lead pipeline related projects including planning, excavations, repairs, inspections, and documentation. Also be able to read and understand prints and conceptual drawings. Perform documentation required by Plains and other regulating agencies as required as well as perform other pipeline related duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor. Education and Training High School diploma or equivalent. Must have or be able to pass API 1104 and 1107 welding certifications. Must have basic computer skills and ability to generate and e-mail correct Plains forms as required. Be able to read and interpret piping prints and x-ray film.Other Qualifications Have or acquire CDL drivers license for operation of welding truck. Posses or obtain Operator Qualifications as deemed by the Operations Supervisor. Ability to complete Haz-Mat training, safety programs, and meet minimum D.O.T. qualifications.
