Shift Manager- Mechanical Maintenance Steelmaking

The Shift Manager - Mechanical Maintenance will be responsible for the day-to-day support and electrical maintenance of assigned area.

Key Relationships: Process Coordinator Mechanical Maintenance Steelmaking Operations Supervise Electrical Technicians and Mechanical Contractors Work closely with the Operations Team

Major Responsibilities: Administration of the U. S. Steel safety program to ensure safe work environment. Application of engineering principles and problem solving techniques to evaluate and resolve mechanical conditions to maximum operating efficiencies. Supervise, direct and coordinate the efforts of experienced mechanical technicians and project planners to repair and maintain equipment. Use technical knowledge and maintenance history of equipment to develop and implement preventive maintenance programs. Perform administrative activities such as scheduling of crews, completing maintenance reports, conducting safety contacts, and other reporting as necessary by the operating facility.

Performance Metrics: Establish performance goals and objectives with Process Coordinator Mechanical Maintenance Insure Safe Operation

Job Requirements:
Preferred candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent years of demonstrated knowledge in mechanical maintenance and process instrumentation. 3 to 5 years working with in Steel or like heavy industry Mechanical  maintenance experience working in the steel industry or heavy manufacturing is strongly encouraged.
