SCADA Spec- Midland, TX
POSITION: SCADA SPECIALIST (local candidates only, Relocation assistance is not available for this position) DEPARTMENT: Pipeline Operations LOCATION: Midland, TX Maintain a Pipeline SCADA system including SCADA servers, SCADA networks, SCADA workstations, a real time database, and a historical database. Ensure reliable communications with remote PLC’s that monitor and control various pipelines. Ensure reliable historical data is available for reports. Responsibilities Ensure maximum reliability and uptime of the SCADA system 24 / 7 operation. Design and implement improvements to the SCADA system. Modify and update the real time database and HMI to reflect a dynamic system. Assist engineering and operations in developing pipeline automation procedures. Maintain a secure SCADA environment as it applies to company and regulatory guidelines. Communications skills are critical, must be able to convey Control Center SCADA system requirements to field personnel and pipeline management. Education and TrainingMust have an Associates Degree, military or equivalent industry experience with strong background in computer programming languages and scripting. Must have a strong understanding of PLC’s, SCADA protocols, remote pipeline automation and operations. Must have a working knowledge of computer and network architecture. Must be able to understand HMI programming, have a strong working knowledge of numbering systems, (binary, hex, octal, etc). Technical RequirementsCandidate must have an advanced understanding of SCADA networks and PLC programming. A strong electrical / electronic communication background is preferable. Candidate should understand the basic daily operation of remote pipeline operation. ExperienceExperience working in a 24x7 support role with real time systems.Have an associates degree, military experience or equivalent industry experience.
