DescriptionResponsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, responsible for the continuous improvement of the heat & material balances of our processes; processes include, but are not limited to: stone feed, process of calcining into lime, lime quality, all inputs to production, stone, fuels, additives, post-production packaging, etc.; have ownership of the process and in charge of process improvement and optimization; and root causes analysis on process issues; providing process support for troubleshooting, optimization, and planning to production, maintenance, and quality control; records any problems related to the process or system; initiates, recommends, provides and/or implements solutions; involved in maintenance planning meetings, outage meetings, and continuous improvement meetings; hold at least one daily handoff meeting with operators and team leaders about the daily instructions, production expectations and any barriers they had during their shift; work with Engineering to design, implement plant modification from the startup and transitioning to the continuous monitoring and optimization phase; and other duties as assigned by management.Required SkillsQualified candidates will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field; 8+ years of experience in root Cause analysis and process engineering within maintenance, operations or plant engineering environments; industry background in manufacturing related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc., preferred; a ''take charge'' person with a Positive & Proactive attitude with the ability to perform with minimal supervision; able and willing to spend the majority of time in the plant with the operators; technical aptitude & analytical skills; detail & process oriented with strong problem resolution abilities; excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
