Our Houston Location has an immediate opening for the position of Metallurgist

 

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for performing metallographic testing and failure analysis. The candidate must have experience within the Oil & Gas Industry, preferably in pipeline welding. This position consists of testing and the writing of technical reports. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

-  Perform routine metallurgical evaluations

-  Perform failure analysis and fracture surface evaluation, utilizing a SEM

-  May seldom be required to go on site and evaluate failures and perform on-site testing

-  Obtain test data and enter into LIMS system.

-  Able to interpret and evaluate results against required specifications

 

Qualifications and Education:

- Minimum BS degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science

- 5 Years experience in failure analysis

- Good mechanical aptitude

- Knowledge of various materials/metals an asset

- Good computer skills

- Good writing and communication skills
