JOB DESCRIPTION

One of Business Week’s hot growth companies seeks an experienced Market Research Analyst for their Strategic Market Planning & Development team.  Responsibilities include researching and analyzing market and technical data to produce responsive, insightful, competitive intelligence to serve as the foundation for strategic decision making. You will analyze the competitive environment and future trends and make recommendations based on your findings. Your objective is to enable management to grow revenues, increase profitability and maintain the company's competitive advantage in the marketplace.

 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Ø  Develop market forecasts that articulate a comprehensive view of the company’s overall market position, addressable market opportunity, company performance, competitive threats, and key market trends

Ø  Crosscheck external industry analyst reports by executing bottoms-up, independent analysis

Ø  Gather and analyze data on requested markets:  size, main actors and customers, competitors, trends, profitability

Ø  Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and scorecards on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Ø  Strong analytical capabilities and a willingness and ability to quickly learn new tools and software is required

Ø  Must be comfortable with interpreting data and providing appropriate business recommendations based on conclusions

Ø  The candidate should be a self-starter willing to support ad hoc data inquiries and ensure that basic reporting needs are met

Ø  Solid knowledge and experience extracting data from various large relational databases with Oracle SQL Queries, OLAP Cubes, Excel, Statistical models and data mining is preferred

 QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree (Masters Preferred)

2-5 years market research experience
