Corporate Controller

The Position:

The responsibilities of this position include assisting the CFO in overall Accounting and Financial Management practices of the business, directing the Corporate Accounting Department, providing accounting and financial business performance analysis and recommendations and operating the overall accounting and financial functions of the business entity.

Must have track record of implementing change in a high growth and fast pace environment.  Company financial reporting requirements for quarter end and year end including; consolidations, accounting, preparation of tax working papers, and other various transactions.  Prefer experience in wholesale fuel.

Job Purpose:

Maximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.

Duties:

* Prepares budgets, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial statements for four companies in accordance with GAAP.

* Achieves budget objectives by analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.

* Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting and reporting financial data.

* Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.

* Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.

* Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.

* Maximizes return, and limits risk, on cash by minimizing bank balances; making investments.

* Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

* Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.

* Maintains financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.

* Maintains a 'Hands-on' Management Style. Lead team members to achieve results with functions including contracts/billing, accounts payable, general ledger reconciliation, financial statement preparation and banking.

* Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.  Establish and maintain processes ensuring accurate and reliable data necessary for business operations.

* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

* Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.

* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:

Managing Processes, Financial Software, Developing Standards, Audit, Accounting, Corporate Finance, Tracking Budget Expenses, Financial Skills, Analyzing Information, Developing Budgets, Performance Management.  Minimum ten years experience of proven results as a Supervisor.  Effective communication skills with team, peers and leaders.  Managed a team of at least six direct and indirect reports.
